The conference focuses on the aspects and significance of the concept of "event" and the different ways of mediation of events, in philosophical, philological, religious studies, literary and cultural theoretical approaches.
The keynote speaker will be Prof. Claude Romano (Université Paris-Sorbonne, Australian Catholic University), winner of the Grand prix de philosophie of the Académie Française.
The other invited plenary speakers are among the most prominent contemporary figures in the field: Prof. Gaetano Chiurazzi (University of Turin / Collège International de Philosophie, Paris); Prof. Gert-Jan van der Heiden (Radboud University Nijmegen); Prof. François Raffoul (Louisiana State University); and Prof. Daniela Vallega-Neu (University of Oregon).
The conference's language is English. A selection of written versions of the presentations will be published by the organizers as an open-access electronic publication.
